
The JazzschoolThis is the second year that Ed will offer this three-part series which covers, at a very personal and in-depth level, the aspects that make a singer truly authentic in the jazz tradition. Each workshop consists of an interactive lecture with exercises that promote self-evaluation. Each workshop also offers ample opportunity to perform and interpret class material.

Prerequisite: no jazz singing experience necessary. Students must bring at least 4 songs with accompanying sheet music to class.

SUMMER 2010
The JazzschoolSubtle interpretation, phrasing and dynamics are all part of singing a ballad. Instructor, Ed Reed, will share his experience and story-telling techniques with students of all levels. Singers will have an opportunity to bring a new song each week and explore the text, the sub-text, the personal and the universal stories of their songs. Week one will be a lecture, demonstration and listening session. Weeks two through six students will perform with a pianist.
Limited to 6 students.
